With Google Panda 4.0 update, many became winners, while other became losers, but somehow e-bay managed to stand as the ‘biggest loser’ of all. Search metrics has provided a ranking chart in, which ask and e-bay have significantly got hit by the update. A tremendous amount of organic traffic and rankings of these sites has been lost, which has also lead to hacking of their database. This has made them tweet to their users to change their passwords, in order to safeguard their accounts from getting hacked. Over the course of about three days, when updates were about to be made, eBay fell from position 6 to position 10 and later to 25th position. Not only has e-Bay’s keywords been affected by Panda, but its two major domains called "www.ebay.com" and "popular.ebay.com" too lost their position on SERP. However, besides those who have got negative effect from update, there are others who have got positive affect as well. To name a few of the sites which have reached on to top position in search engine result pages are glassdoor.com, emedicinehealth.com, medterms.com, yourdictionary.com, shopstyle.com, zimbio.com, myrecipes.com, couponcabin.com buzzfeed.com and many more. Earlier in 2014, Yahoo featured its mobile push option by releasing an app for newsfeed called Yahoo News Digest. The app was meant for the iOS. The biggest force behind the app was technology that provided the basis for it, from Summly, which Yahoo acquired earlier.
After months of its release, Yahoo News Digest is expanding out to newer devices across multiple locations, by introducing new editions. First of all, the News Digest has been made available on the Android platform providing all the great features of iOS, along with an additional home-screen widget. The widget will display recent newsfeed while keeping track of unread articles. For users across the world, international version will provide news from all locations. A Canadian version of the app meant for both iOS and Android will let users access all the relevant local Canadian stories. Soft System Solution always keeps track of all new launches and updates by Yahoo, and is waiting to see what this IT giant will offer in future. |
